The Limn Group Public Relations to illuminate Capital Area Special Olympics brand through service-learning project

The following blog post was written by Paige Weber, writing director of The Limn Group Public Relations.

Our team is ready to serve. We are excited to announce our service-learning project with Capital Area Special Olympics of Louisiana to illuminate its brand and raise awareness in Baton Rouge.

Our partnership with Capital Area Special Olympics fosters our agency’s goals. We don’t want you to just hear the organization’s story, we want you to imagine and feel the mission it invokes. As such an influence in the disabled community’s lives, we believe with a little help from our agency, Capital Area Special Olympics can shine in the light of our community.

The Limn Group was created in a service-learning class at LSU. The Center for Community Engagement, Learning, and Leadership’s website states that this is an opportunity for students to partner with non-profit community groups for hands-on experience in service projects related to course content. That’s precisely what we want to do.

Our agency is excited to put our public relations research, ethical integrity and communications skills to test with Capital Area Special Olympics. The Limn Group’s plan is to provide deliverables catering to Capital Area Special Olympics’s internal and external communications needs. We can also supply overall branding guidelines to create consistent messaging about the brand.

Our team wants to establish external relations with the media, such as The Advocate, 225 Magazine and Tiger Rag, so Capital Area Special Olympics can become a better-known organization in the capital area.

We truly believe Capital Area Special Olympics’s influence in the community can spike with the communications assistance we provide. In 2009, there were more than 800,000 people in our state who had some form of disability, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Capital Area Special Olympics is a cause built for each and every one of those people. All the public has to do is learn about it.
